TheBalm is an american brand known for its amazing quality, and adorable 60s/50s packaging. I heard loads of great things about it, but I never got the chance to try it.

Until the holiday palettes were released, and I am going to share my opinion on the products provided in it , and the palettes as a whole. In two seperate blogs (the second one will be linked here)

 ذابالم ماركة أمريكية معروفة بجودتها الرائعة وتعليبها المتمحور حول عصر الخمسينات\الستينات . سمعت عنها أشياء كثير حلوة لكن ما حصلت لي الفرصة أجربها.

In TheBalm Of Your Hands

The first edition compilation palette of some the brand's well loved products,

الاصدار الأول من بعض منتجات ذابالم المحبوبة

This was my starting point in trying this brand, and it did open some lovely doors. 

The packaging is a sturdy magnetic closure cardboard , and comes with a nicely sized mirror inside. I loved how they separated the "creams" compartment from the "powders" . This added feature plays a big part in preventing a mess from happening , hopefully. 

 نقطة البداية لي في هالماركة ،  فتحت لي أبواب .. أقول عنها جميلة؟ يعني فرصة استكشاف رائعة تقدرون تقولون. 

التعليب قوي وينصك بالمغناطيس ، تجي معاه مرآة مقاسها حلو. عجبتني حركة تفريق منتجات الباودر والكريمية، هذا يلعب دور كبير في تجنب حدوث حوسة مكياجية في المنتج نفسه .. إن شاء الله

I found the pan size/amount given to be pretty good. The face and cream products were obviously reduced in size a bit, but the eyeshadows are almost full size (they do come as one part of a seperate palette, Mary Lou was reduced to those eyeshadow pan sizes). 

I do appreciate the way TheBalm markets their products as more than just "bronzer" or "blush". It doesn't matter how its marketed, if you find a bronzer works as a shadow, then go for it. But for a beginner (or anyone) lets say, it can help expand their horizon when it comes to that.

كمية المنتج المعطى حسيتها مناسبة وكمية حلوة. المنتجات الكريمية ومنتجات الوجه تنقصت كميتها من كمية المنتج لحاله (مو كثير بس تنقصت) أما الظلال فهذا تقريبًا حجمها الكامل (طبعًا هي تجي كجزء من باليت ثاني بذا الحجم) و ماري لو حجمها صار مثل الظلال . 

أحب طريقة تسويق ذابالم لمنتجاتهم ، حيث أنهم يسوقون طرق مختلفة لاستخدامها بدال بس استخدام كلمة وحدة لوصف وظيفتها . مع إنه المكياج ما له قوانين ولا فرقت طريقة التسويق ، يعني إذا اعجبك\ناسبك منتج بطريقة غير المسوق لأجلها ، ليش لا،عرفتوا؟ بس لوحدة مبتدئة أو أي أحد وده يبدع شوي ، طريقة ذابالم تساعدهم يستكشفون في هذا المجال.

Now , let's dissect the product (Forensic much?) \\ يلا نبدأ نشرح (واضح إنه راسي في الجنائيات )

Face  Powders //  بودرات الوجه

Bahama Mama (bronzer \ برونزر)
The color is ideal for bronzing and contouring, and makes a fantastic crease color. A soft and buttery powder that is easily blended with great staying power and pigmentation, I also see this befitting a wide range of skin tones.
اللون مثالي ككنتور وكبرونزر ، و خطير هاللون في كسرة العين . البودرة ناعمة و سهل دمجها وتدوم فترة طويلة  + صبغتها قوية (انتبهي ، شوي شوي توصلين للون الي يناسبك) واحس ينفع  المنتج على بشرات كثيرة .

Hot Mama (blush \ بلشر)
I thought this'll be something similar to NARS Orgasm or something, but its more similar to air than anything.. Why? It doesn't show up.
I do not think its suitable for my skin tone, as in its too light for it. So if your skin tone is medium (like I am) be weary of this blush. I literally dug my brush into the product, but I did realise sooner than later that this is the case for it.

أحسب إنه بيطلع شي يشبه بلشر نارس المعروف ، يعني مشمشي على زهري مع لمعة. هو صح إنه شكله كذا في مكانه. بس أبد أبد ما بان على وجهي. على قدر محاولاتي ما في شي. وسبب هذا هو إنه ما يناسب لون بشرتي، أفتح من ما يناسبها .

Cabana Boy (blush \ بلشر)
This looks dark and scary in the pan, a very deep color that translates into a raspberry pink. As with the Hot Mama blush, it does contain golden shimmer. Though it serves as the glow with the flush of color. I see this as a versatile shade, .
Yes, this can get overboard so I recommend using a light hand. No need for me to repeat the beautiful qualities of TheBalm's face powders, right?
غامق و يخوف في الباليت نفسه ، أنا مو من النوع إلي يحب البلشر القوي ولذلك ما حبيته في البداية. لكنه جميل ! يطلع لونه توتي  على الوجه ، حمرة طبيعية . ولوجود اللمعة  الذهبية زي هوت ماما ، يعطي الوجه لمعة صحية مع اللون. اللون هذا عملي مرة
ولكن هاللون انصح بأنكم تستخدمونه بيد خفيفة لأنه سهل تتخطين الحدود به . وما له داعي أزيد في مدحي لوجدتهم ، صح؟

Instain Longwearing Staining Powder Blush in Argyle (blush \ بلشر)
I kind of have a love-hate relationship with this blush. the color isn't my cup of tea.. And I think that's what coming in the way of my assessment of this product. I rarely reach for such tones. The formula is, as it suggests, a long lasting one.
But I appreciate including a cool pink, in my opinion I see that it completes the set of blushes in the palette.
مدري إذا حابته ولا لا. اللون هو إلي عاقني في حكمي على المنتج بشكل واضح، هو مو من الألوان إلي أحبها ولا أحسها تناسبني. لذلك نادر ما انجذب لألوان زي كذا. بس الحلو في تركيبة المنتج دوامه الطويل على البشرة.
وحبيت وجوده في الباليت، لأن اللونين الثانيين دافيين وجود لون بارد يكمل المجموعة. وطبعًا للبشرات إلي تناسبهم هالألوان .. يعني المجموعة غطت أغلب مجموعات البشرات.


Mary-Lou Manizer (highlighter/إضاءة)
Do I need to say much? A glow out of this world ! I love that this gives a sheen rather than specks of glitter on your cheekbones (and the high points of the face) , so it is an amazing powder for a dewy look. it feels creamy and soft. I love it!
وش أقول بس؟ إضاءة خيالية . أحب إنها تعطي لمعة بدال ما تكون جلتر على الوجه . وعشان كذا في رأيي هالبودرة رائعة للمكياج الندي. ملمسها كريمي وناعم ، أحبها !

Eyeshadows // ظلال العيون (الشادو) 

I am going to talk generally about the formula since they're all the same. Pigmented and Longlasting + Easy to work with (blendable).
All are soft shadows, with the exception of the color "Sexy", that is very dry. Though I didn't find that disrupting of the other good qualities this shadow has.
Each shadow is part of a seperate palette, I'm going to list those next to it.

بتكلم عن تركيبتهم بشكل عام لأنهم تقريبًا متشابهين من هالناحية. صبغتهم قوية ويدوم اللون + سهل التعامل معهم (أقصد ما يبغاله شغل كثير لما تحطين اللون وتدمجينه)
كل الشدوات ناعمين ، باستثناء اللون العنابي ، جاف مرة. بس ما حسيته أثر على مميزاته الثانية.
 كل ظل موجود في باليت لحاله ، وبحط اسم الباليت جنب الظل\الشادو.

الألوان \\ colors (plus some notes on how I use it/ بضيف طرق استخدامي لها)

-Lead Zeppelin (from/من:  Balm Jovi)
as a lover of warm and neutral tones I don't gravitate towards cool tones .. But I love this as a liner and/or smudged on my upper and lower lashline (with cool toned shadows or alone)
كوحدة محبة للدرجات الترابية والدافية ما أميل للبرود في اختيار هالألوان.. بس حبيت هذا في مكان الكحل أو\و ادمجه في خط رموشي السفلي والعلوي (مع درجات ظلال باردة أو لحاله)
-Sexy (from\من : Nudetude Palette)
I love using this as liner, and smudging it on the upper and lower lashline. Basically the same case as the "Lead Zeppelin" shadow, but with warmer tones or alone.
أحب استعمل هاللون في مكان الكحل و ادمجه في خط رموشي السفلي والعلوي. يعني نفس اللون إلي قبله بس مع درجات دافية أو لحاله
-Insane Jane (from/من : Shady Lady Vol.2)
I think this on the lid paired with Lead Zeppelin is great, I didn't try this as liner but seems like a nice color for that (tired of all the mention of smudging? Haha. Can't help it). A nice color overall really, plus it has a delightful finish.
هذا على الجفن مع أول لون ذكرته جميلين ! ما جربته في مكان الكحل زي اللونين الي قبل لكني أحس ممكن يضبط ، جيث إنه اللون مناسب لذي الحركة في نظري  (طفشتكم بذي الحركه ؟ هههه ، شسوي عاد هبيت فيها ) اللون جميل بشكل عام

-Mischievous Marissa (from\من: Shady Lady special edition)
A luminous warm gold color , paired with Mary-Lou in the inner corners (a bronzer in the crease for definition) makes an easy yet lovely look . The Shady Lady shadows are wonderful !
 لون ذهبي دافي حلو ، مع ماري لو في مدمع العين وبرونزر في الكسرة للتحديد . مكياج عين بسيط وسهل لكن جميل. عجبتني شدوات \ظلال هالمجموعة (Shady Lady)


The Creams // المنتجات الكريمية

-Caramel (lip and cheek cream from/منتج كريمي للخدود والشفايف من "How 'Bout Them Apples")
It is a warm and natural color (a muted orange). It gives a nice sheen to the skin when used as a cream blush, very flattering on my skin (medium-light) . Blendable and a buildable color. Not drying yet not hydrating, and a longwearing formula
لون دافي وطبيعي (برتقالي خافت) يعطي لمعة صحية للبشرة لما يُستخدم كبلشر كريمي ، حسيته حلو على بشرتي (فاتحة إلى متوسطة)  سهل الدمج واللون يتقوى. اللون ناعم وطبيعي على الشفايف ظن بس حبيته كبلشر أكثر. ما ينشف ولا يرطب ويدوم على الوجه

-Mia Moore (lipstick from  / روج من "The Balm Girls" )
If you're a fan of blue-based reds (Ruby woo for example?) Mia moore is another one of those, though I never did wear it full color. I love dabbing it on bare lips so it would give me a flush of red. I love that effect , its a moisturizing and creamy matte formula that lasts for a good amount of time.
إذا تحبين الأرواج الحمرة إلي أساسها ازرق (مثل روبي وو من ماك ) هذا منهم . مع إني ما قد حطيت اللون كامل ، دايم أطبطب منه على شفايفي عشان يعطيني حمرة طبيعية . أحب هالتأثير ، التركيبة ترطب بالإضافة إلى كونها مطفية وتدوم وقت طويل.

The best thing about it is the value , well the quality and product selection is amendable too, but even with the amount being less than full size, you get a good amount at a good price for that wide selection. I do recommend it if it's still available , if not, I'd say Bahama Mama and Mary-Lou are  my winners for this one. For their effect and versatility.
أحلى ما فيها هو قيمتها ، الجودة واختيار المنتجات كان ممتاز بعد ، لكن حتى والكمية أقل يجيك كمية مناسبة بسعر حلو حيث إنه توفر نطاق واسع في باليت صغير . انصحكم فيه إذا كان متوفر، أما إذا كان خلاف ذلك اختار لكم ماري لو وباهاما ماما من بينهم كالفائزين هنا، بسبب التأثير إلي يعطونه وعمليتهم
